Our Story

Born in Honduras, Estela had dreams as a little girl of some day owning a restaurant in America. She began cooking out of necessity for her family at age seven where she learned quite a bit from her mama and was otherwise self-taught. Many of the dishes Estela grew up eating are the very dishes she serves to you today. The foods that nourished herself and most importantly, her family.

Prior to coming to America, Estela worked many different jobs - including in a Chiquita Banana factory! It was upon coming to the States in that she started her career in restaurants, exclusively in Latino establishments. Starting as a hostess, then cashier, and moving up to server - Estela spent over 17 years in the industry. It is only until now that she has finally has the opportunity to work behind the scenes, just as she always envisioned for herself.

With a combination of family, friends, and great neighbors - this lifelong dream was able to become a reality. Estela and her husband, Stephen, are proud to present to you Estelita’s Restaurant. They feel hugely honored to serve the wonderful community of Narrowsburg. It is their mission to provide something truly unique to this area while offering authentic quality dishes full of flavor, heart, and soul.

We hope your experience with Estelita’s makes you feel warmly welcomed and at home. Without your satisfaction and support, none of this would be possible. This is more than just a restaurant in a quaint river town; It is the epitome of the American Dream and a true labor of love.

From the bottom of our hearts, we say, “muchas gracias!”
